Assets Under Management (AUM)
Formula
Total market value of assets under management
Definition
Assets Under Management is the total market value of assets a firm manages on behalf of its clients at a point in time. It is a core measure of scale for asset managers, wealth managers, and investment platforms, and often serves as the base on which management fees are charged. AUM changes for two primary reasons: net client flows and changes in the value of the underlying assets.
In MetricFrame
AUM is a user-supplied volume metric. MetricFrame uses it to calculate take rate, Gross Profit Take Rate, year-over-year growth, and AUM per customer.
